Pros:Extremely ink efficientTakes remanufactured toner cartridges with no hangupsHas no networking capabilities, only USBCons:Nearly impossible to find this and the better version (SCX-4623FW)Way too expensive at current pricesOverall Review:This once retailed at between $200 and $250. I wish I had bought 10 or 15 of these things at those prices, because now they're impossible to find, and when you do look for them, they're either open box items, 'as-is, for parts', or over $800 each. These things are ridiculously reliable. I want to say I bought the first one we ever had at least 10 years ago now, and it JUST stopped working today.

We had WELL-over 100,000 print jobs done successfully by that machine, and that doesn't include scans or outgoing faxes.Considering that you can find remanufactured HIGH YIELD toner cartridges extremely regularly at under $20 each that will get you 2,500 pages at 15% coverage (in our case, we needed 70% coverage and averaged at least 1500 pages on a single high yield cartridge), these things pay for themselves and then some over the course of a few years if you're printing high volume. Pros:Reliable, easy to use, inexpensive, reliable, versatile, and reliable. I got sick of ink-jet printers that were always clogged when I wanted to use them. Ever time I tried to print, the darned things had to clean their jets, using up expensive ink to do so.Laser jets use dry toner, and never clog, streak, or print unevenly.

The toner cartridges are more expensive, but they last forever. I LOVE the fact that when I want to print something, this little baby prints it.The scanner works wonderfully, scanning high-resolution images from my families old photos, and it is easy to use to scan in bills, tax returns, etc.

I don't have a phone line, so the fax is irrelevant to me, but the copier works a treat.Cons:Monochrome print only. This may bother you. It does not bother me. It scans in color, and that's all I need it to do in color. The arrangement of the top cover makes it easy to accidentally open the print output drawer. No big deal.Overall Review:This printer comes in several models no.' I thought I was buying the WiFi version, but when it arrived not only was there no WiFi, there was no network connector at all. I can only use this printer tethered to a CPU which is a bit limiting.

Returning it would have cost more than I paid for the unit, so I kept it. I'm glad I did. Pros:I too have a Samsung Printer (the 2510) which I've had for the past 3 years and I use 3rd party cartridges ALL THE TIME. I get them for anywhere from $30-$40 cheaper than the Manufacturers Cartridges and they work JUST AS GOOD!!! If you have problems, just GOOGLE 'Universal Compatible' or 'Compatible' Laser Toner Cartridges and you'll find them.

Hope this helps. You ROCK NewEgg!!!Cons:CONS??? What CONS???Overall Review:I too have a Samsung Printer (the 2510) which I've had for the past 3 years and I use 3rd party cartridges ALL THE TIME. Hope this helps. You ROCK NewEgg!!! Pros:Prints Fast / SharpScans Very FastEasy SetupPrinter driver is a snap and Scanning software is straight forward and easy.Samsung just moved to the TOP of my Printer ListCons:I have had no issues with this printer at all. Since this is my Wife's MAIN printer that is a good thing.Overall Review:I do not understand why ANYONE would ding this excellent printer for not having a USB cable included. Seriously people?

USB has been around for what, 12 years now? If you don't have a spare usb cable then you must be living in a cave.

Or, you could always pick one up for $5 or less just about anywhere. I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO RECOMMEND THIS PRINTER TO ANYONE!! FIVE STARS.er.I mean EGGS.

Ok - Here's the low down:Samsung SCX-5935fn MFP printer.Networked with an IP address.Original installers were monkeys.Scan-To-PC not working.Samsung website and email support useless.I am trying to resetup the Scan-to-PC function and there is no information out there that I can find to walk through the process. I'm not new to MFC printers but these samsungs are terrible. The Scan-To-PC setup was done by a different company and they were using Filezilla in order to get the function to work. Even then it only went to one user.

Monkeys I tell ya!Has anyone setup this stuff? It has become extremely important for this function to work for everyone in the office - not just one person. The printing function is working, all PC's have an IP address set. Which software needs to be installed to make this work properly? Sharp has a Network scan tool, but I dont see anything for Samsung to make this setup easier.TIAFrustrated:).

Scan

In my experience, most MFDs require a USB direct connect in order to Scan-to-PC. The Canons, HPs, Kyoceras and Lexmarks, I work on best use that method. It is possible to a Scan-to-PC file folder via a network, but lower end units coneections are klunky at best. The higher end units can Scan to a network file folder or mailbox. Software provided in suite on disk.Scan-to-email via a network setup is another option. It has its advantages and disadvantages as well.Lastly, ensure your MFD TWAIN software is compatible to the OS you are using. If your MFD software drivers cannot match the OS bit (32 to 32 bit, or 64 to 64 bit), it may not work at all.Hope this helps. Jason,Thanks again for your patience.

Let me know how it goes.Thanks,Charity. Good Evening,I bought 4 Samsung M2675 FN two months ago, and I really regret it.

I cannot scan to pc due to that 'not available' message. Lets start from the beggining.1. Physicaly install Printer2. Assign Static Ip Address3. Install Printer Software from DVD (Including Printer Manager).Problems1. Domain Users dont have the ability to enable scan to PC from printer Manager because they don t see the scan menu.

Only Admins can do.2. When I Enable the Scan to PC Option, Computer Name is shown on device display, but domain users cannot scan. Only Admins can, even when the destination folder has full rights for all users.3. When I try to disable the Scan to PC Option from Easy Printer Manager, computer name is not deleted from Printer, and when I try to re enable scan to PC, I get a message like 'duplicate id' or something like this.4. What are these firewall rules that i have to create.

What are the ports or executables I have to add to firewall exceptions.Clients OS: Windows 7 /XP (Same behaviour)Domain: 2008 R2 ServerI am thinking of replacing these products because scanning is very important in my job.Thank in advance and sorry for my english. I have a new SL-C460W and get the same 'not available' message even when using a USB cable to scan.

I can only scan to a USB which is not really favourable! I am trying to follow your advise and have made sure my firewall is allowing the printer.

I am following your/some other advice which suggests making adjustments in the easy printer manager application, but unfortunately, I cannot open this on my PC as I get some 'side by side' configuration error!I have reinstalled the driver but get same message.I am either going to start crying soon or throw your printer onto the pavement very soon. Please help! Thanks, Simone in Dubai.

We've got a Samsung MFP printer (SCX-4x28 series) and in general it's a good printer. (Seen better, seen worse). The problem Is (I see a few of the fellows above had experienced it as well) when trying to scan through the network (via the printer. Via the computer works fine) you get a 'not available' error. All settings in network are set OK (Assign static IP, Default Gateway) and all computers can print to it without no problems. But not to scan.I've tried the solutions suggested above (Installing scan driver on the computer, installing 'Samsung scan manager', Disabling Firewall, installing 'Scan OCR program') unsuccessfully. Now we need to buy a new printer and if I cannot solve this issue – no more Samsung for usI'll be grateful for any idea. Thanks in advance,Eli. Driver is different than Scan Manager Software as far as I know or could tell.

I did not have the disk anymore and someone deleted the software off our software store. I restored it from backup but that's only cause I had it in the first place when the technician installed it. FYI, this is the exe I used SCX-6545SeriesScan.exe. Which is different than any software I could find on Samsung site.

It appears your best bet is to keep your install disc and backup scan manager software from the disk in case you lose it. Just a bad experience overall with Samsung software.. Installing the SSM (Samsung Scan Manager) did fix the issue. Now I can scan directly from the scanner. Works just fine. The problem was that i was looking and looking to this program forever.

I felt like trying to run in a nightmare. The Samsung website offers you loads of programs as scanning asistent, 'Scan Assistant' 'Set IP' 'Smart panel' but not the SSM.I just happened to find the SSM in the driver file in Applications ScanManager. I think it shuld be available on thier site.Anyway. I'm happy now. Thanks Lenmax.
